Microsoft has presented at the Mobile World Congress 2019 its second generation of Mixed Reality glasses: HoloLens 2. These new glasses offer the possibility of interacting with holograms, creating the sensation that the user can touch them.
And of course... We had to echo the news to see how we can incorporate them into our Hyperexperience.
What are the new features of the HoloLens 2?
The Hololens 2 have better and new features, being sharper, lighter and more accurate. In this way, they allow you to interact with images that are generated exclusively within our field of vision.
Innovative design
Over the years, Microsoft has made technological improvements that have allowed it to create more compact and lighter glasses. It is a device designed so that the user can wear it comfortably for several hours, attaching and adapting it to their routine.
The material used for its manufacture is carbon fiber, which allows this lightness. In addition, it also has a dial to adjust them over the head. On the other hand, the user can lift the glasses so as not to have to take them off.
This simplicity in its design may lead one to think that the same will happen with the technology it incorporates. On the contrary, HoloLens 2 has more technology than ever.
More immersion
This new MR device improves the user's sense of immersion. It achieves this through a degree of vision more than twice as wide as its predecessors, HoloLens (2016). In addition, it includes a MEMS display system, which increases immersion, doubles the field of view and reduces the width of the helmet with the succession of conventional 2K displays per eye.
Eye tracking
These new glasses feature eye recognition that incorporates a tracking system that tracks the individual's visual movement, knowing precisely where the individual is looking at any given moment.
Thus, the eye trackingthat it incorporates allows the user to log in automatically. In addition to measuring and controlling the direction of gaze.
Instictual Interaction System
The HoloLens 2 incorporates the Instictual Interaction, that is, a system that allows the recognition of the individual and their environment. With it, the hands are recognized to calibrate their size in space, facilitating interaction with the holograms. In this way, various actions can be performed, such as moving, rotating, dragging or pinching the different objects. The sensation is like touching them with your hands. However it is also possible to control actions using voice commands.

How much do HoloLens 2 cost and who are they aimed at?
The new HoloLens 2 will be available at a price of $3,500. However, it is a device that is not for everyone, being something exclusive and fully customizable for the business world.
HoloLens 2 customized for businesses
Microsft's new product seeks to increase interaction with as little device intervention as possible. In this way, its main goal is to provide companies with facilities by avoiding physical displacements enabling co-working.
We're sure this is just a small part of the potential of the Hololens 2. We can't wait to try them out and start developing projects with this new Mixed Reality tool. What will we be able to offer our clients? Where will the limit be? Will it be a device destined to revolutionize work processes?
We'll see!
