Oculus Rift: the glasses that changed everything

Palmer Luckey is the creator of the Oculus Rift, the virtual reality glasses that have marked a milestone in this discipline. There had been talk of virtual reality since the late 1980s, but the push came with the Oculus Rift in 2010.

Facebook acquired the Oculus company in 2004 for a total of $2 billion. These virtual reality glasses are priced at €699, but to use them you need a PC that requires a 970 GTX graphics card or higher, as well as other add-ons. With this wearable device the user literally steps into a parallel, alternative world where, through the use of a controller they can interact with the virtual objects in their path.

Oculus Rift in search of total immersion

Oculus Rift recreates a 3D vision with great depth. However, it is different from 3D technology adapted on a television. In this case, images are presented for each eye.

Some of the features that this virtual reality device has are as follows. A head movement control, where motion sickness is almost non-existent. Also, weapon tracking, increased resolution and wireless operations configured for computers. All these features make for total immersion in any field.

These glasses use a customized tracking technology. Every subtle movement of the head is tracked in real time creating a natural and intuitive experience. The field of view is over 90 degrees horizontally (110 degrees diagonally). Something truly barbaric!

If you are truly looking for excellent viewing and immersive quality, this is your choice.
