Project Alice, the winning idea of Aragón Open Future

The first edition of the Aragón Open Future contest, organized by Telefónica and T-ZIR in 2017, was for DeuSens a gateway to new opportunities, which increased even more when we were proclaimed winners with our new Augmented Reality solution, called Project Alice.

Our collaboration with Liderlamp, a company dedicated to the sale of items for lighting and decoration, to boost their e-commerce capabilities in their online store by implementing Project Alice, served us to be the winners, considering our new solution as the best project of those that were presented during the first edition.

The vocation of Project Alice has always been to achieve the democratization of Augmented Reality as a commercial tool. In this way, its mission was to give the opportunity to any business, from SMEs to multinationals, to have access to a technology as spectacular as versatile, and that could be integrated with ease, by any company, in its sales process, without the need for large investments.

What was Project Alice?

With the idea of boosting online sales of lamps and the rest of its lighting and decorative products, Liderlamp saw in DeuSens and Project Alice a new opportunity to incorporate such an interesting technology as Augmented Reality to its marketing process through its online store.

Project Alice consisted of an Augmented Reality app for Smartphones and Tablets through which, by pointing to a paper marker that previously needed to be printed, the user could visualize in 3D and completely integrated in real space, all Liderlamp products. The main objective of this solution was to break the barrier between an ecommerce and a traditional store, providing customers with a new way to visualize the products through the online channel, thus reducing the uncertainty of not knowing exactly how the product was going to be finally.

Thanks to Project Alice, Liderlamp customers could check exactly how the final product was going to be, appreciating all its details in a perfect 1:1 scale replica modeled in 3D. What's more, customers could place the paper marker in the exact spot where they wanted to place the product they were going to buy, quickly checking if it fit both in dimensions and with the decoration of the rest of the room, for example.
