In the face of the growing adoption of e-commerce, ecommerce has been evolving to provide its customers with innovative solutions in different areas to facilitate their purchasing process. One of the most implemented technologies in recent years in this type of business is Augmented Reality.
 
In this case, The SofaShop wanted to boost the online shopping experience of its ecommerce and allow its customers to visualize how the products would look like, at 1:1 scale and in their own home before even buying them.
 
And to achieve this, they decided to rely on DeuSens Hyperexperience to integrate this Augmented Reality project in their PrestaShop website, with which through the web browser itself, without the need for external downloads, The SofaShop customers could perform virtual tests of the products they were interested in and see how they would look in the real space where they intended to place them.
 

How did the Augmented Reality HyperExperience work?

On accessing The SofaShop website, users could search for the products they were interested in. Subsequently, already on the page of the chosen product sheet, the user found a configurator that allowed him to vary different characteristics of the product, such as the color of the fabric or the size in the case of sofas, to subsequently discover what the final product would look like in a 3D visualizer, integrated into the product sheet itself.
 
In addition, if the user accessed The SofaShop website from a device compatible with Augmented Reality technology, such as a Smartphone or Tablet, from the product sheet itself they could also access the virtual test functionality.
 
After clicking on the corresponding button, the device automatically opened the rear camera and a 3D model of the product appeared over the real image captured by the camera, which could be scaled, moved and rotated to place it exactly where the user wanted to place it in the house and appreciate how it would look.
