CLIENT
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, known as UNESCO for short, is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It was founded on November 16, 1945, with the aim of contributing to peace and security in the world through education, science, culture, and communications.
GOAL ACHIEVED
Create a customized interactive content platform to promote and facilitate the dissemination of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The web platform connecting the world with World Heritage

UNESCO launched the Dive into Heritage project with the aim of democratizing access to cultural knowledge, promoting the conservation and dissemination of World Heritage through a digital platform accessible from any device.

To make this possible, DeuSens, in collaboration with our technology partner Integra Tecnología, developed a pioneering web solution that allows users to virtually explore monuments and cultural sites of international importance, connecting millions of users with the history and legacy of humanity.

The challenge was to create a digital experience that was rigorous, attractive, and educational, integrating existing UNESCO content with a new layer of interactivity and visual narrative, all without geographical or technological barriers.

Scope of the first phase: 14 locations in 9 countries

This first phase of the project includes a total of 14 UNESCO World Heritage sites, spread across nine countries: Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Libya, Bahrain, Morocco, and Algeria.

Each site has been selected for its historical and cultural value and features content developed specifically to facilitate understanding and contextualization. For example, the environment of the Giza pyramids allows users to explore an interactive timeline with narratives about their construction, funerary symbolism, and architectural details reconstructed in 3D.

The project is designed as a living platform, with regular updates that will incorporate new locations and content. This scalability ensures that Dive into Heritage will continuously evolve, increasing its educational reach and value as a digital preservation tool.

Interactive exploration: 3D maps, virtual reconstructions, and multimedia content

The user experience on the platform is fully interactive and accessible from web browsers on both computers and mobile devices. The starting point is a 3D map of the globe from which users can select the different locations available.

At each location, users can choose between a guided tour or free exploration, accessing content such as timelines, image galleries, documentary videos, detailed 3D reconstructions, and explanatory texts. All of this material is designed to offer an immersive educational experience, combining historical accuracy with a visual narrative adapted to the digital environment.

In addition, scrolling and clicking navigation allows for smooth interaction with the different resources, inviting users to discover and delve deeper into the history of each place at their own pace.

Development of the content management system

One of the fundamental pillars of the project has been the development of a customized content management system (CMS) that allows UNESCO itself to autonomously administer the entire platform.

This backend facilitates the creation, modification, and publication of new content, allowing UNESCO's editorial team to add new locations, update information, and enrich the experiences available without relying on external developers. Thanks to this tool, Dive into Heritage has become a sustainable and scalable platform, aligned with the organization's digital strategy and ready to grow over time.

A digital solution with global impact and a long-term educational focus

Dive into Heritage represents a commitment to technological innovation in the service of culture, connecting people from all over the world with historical heritage in an immersive and accessible way.

Since its launch, the platform has already enabled millions of users to explore World Heritage from anywhere and at any time.
Its interactive approach, capacity for growth, and direct contribution to UNESCO's objectives position it as a benchmark tool for cultural dissemination in the digital environment.

This project marks a milestone in the digitization of heritage and reinforces the commitment of DeuSens and Integra Tecnología to creating solutions that combine technology, education, and cultural conservation.
