Aragon Tourism is an initiative created, developed and carried out by the Government of Aragon to highlight the great attractions of the region and promote tourism in all its aspects, making Aragon a unique destination in which to enjoy adventure and nature as well as culture, gastronomy and disconnection.

GOAL ACHIEVED

To showcase two of Aragon's major tourist attractions by creating two Virtual Reality Hypersexperiences to promote tourism in the region.

The future of tourism is allied with technology

Tourism products need to be constantly reinvented to continue to impact the public and convince them to buy. For this reason, companies and institutions in this sector are looking for new ways of communicating with their target by allying themselves with new technologies.

This is how Aragon Tourism decided to be pioneers once again and include in its stand at FITUR 2016 two Virtual Reality Hyperexperiences, a technology that has been fully introduced in this sector as a tool to bring users closer to the tourism industry; bring users the travel packages of the promoters and of the hotels, allowing them to discover landscapes, monuments and places from their own home, inciting them to want to live that experience but in real life.

For this reason, Aragón Turismo thought it was the perfect technology to anticipate the experience of living tourist products. And so we demonstrate it with these two Hyperexperiences:

The Hyperexperience of skiing in Virtual Reality

To create this Virtual Reality Hyperexperience we relied on 360º technology to capture a compelte ski descent down the slopes of Formigal. In this way, Turismo de Aragón could live the experience of being skiers sliding down the slopes of Formigal to all attendees who were encouraged to try it, being in IFEMA and not in Formigal.

In addition, this Hiperexperiencia not only consisted of VR content, as we also had a small installation in a part of the stand of Aragon, where we placed some skis and poles anchored to the ground so that users, with the Samsung Gear VR Virtual Reality glasses on and climbed on them, felt completely immersed complementing even more, if possible, the Hiperexperiencia.

Birdwatching in 360º with Virtual Reality

The second Hyperexperience brought to the fair was based on another of the great attractions of tourism in our region. In this case it was a Virtual Reality content that recreated a bird observatory in which users tried to spot the most exotic birds.

This Hyperexperience, was also accompanied by a small installation that, in this case, simulated a bird observatory. Thus, visitors to the fair were able to teleport to the Gallocanta Lagoon, where they were able to enjoy the cranes even though they were in Madrid. By combining real image and computer-generated 3D image we made possible the creation of this memorable experience.
