Integration of PIM tool in web catalog
The constant evolution of GRB caused the company to specialize in developing novel and innovative faucet products with the aim of positioning as a pioneer company and differentiate itself from the competition. Seeing how their product catalog was increasing exponentially year after year, they implemented a PIM tool to manage this extensive product catalog.
Subsequently, they saw the need to find a way to integrate this PIM tool with a catalog in web format that would allow them to have full control of the catalog in one place, through this tool. For this reason, they decided to put themselves, once again, in the hands of DeuSens and rely on Hiperexperiencia to create a system that integrated their PIM tool with a web catalog so that the migration and subsequent updating would be much more agile and easier to perform.
What is a PIM tool?
A PIM tool (Product Information Management) is a system that allows managing all the information about the products and services of a company. Thanks to this tool, GRB had total control over its product catalog data as well as its inventory, being able to perform a much more efficient management of its resources and optimizing the way of tracking, locating and ordering all the corresponding data.
For this reason, the fundamental functionality of this project, due to the importance of this PIM tool in GRB's production processes, was to be able to implement it and synchronize it with the web catalog to keep all the information in one place and continue to have total control, in real time, of its product catalog.
Synchronization of the databases
The main problem for GRB when creating its web catalog was to integrate it with its PIM tool. For this reason, the most valued functionality of this project was the system created to synchronize the database of this tool with that of its web catalog with the objective later to dump all the data and information from one to another without problem, getting facilitate and expedite the work of maintenance and updating of new references.
Thanks to this system the creation of new products or updating of existing ones was as simple as making the changes only the PIM system, updating automatically on the web created without the need for further action as both servers are synchronized. In this way, the management of the GRB catalog was performed entirely from the same tool, without the need to perform the work in duplicate, facilitating the work of GRB workers, saving time and avoiding errors.
Design and functionalities of the catalog web
In addition to the system to synchronize both databases, the design of the web catalog and all its functionalities were also fully developed by the DeuSens team. This new GRB web catalog contained more than 570 different references, which the user could find through a text search engine or through a filtering system, which allowed to select by product type, colors and finishes, functions or product line.
This website was also designed in Spanish, English, French and Polish, thus bringing together GRB's priority markets to support the vast majority of its customers.
On the other hand, after finding the right product, the user could access a product sheet where he could find extra information, images, videos, PDFs of interest and even 3D models of the product to visualize it in 360º. In the product sheet, the user could also find information on spare parts for that particular product, as well as a list of related products and similar products.
