CLIENT

Planeta 40 is a young Aragonese company whose activity is focused on the adventure travel sector, organized in thematic packages for groups, which include different activities during a series of days. They are based in Huesca, but their travel offer covers different areas of our territory and abroad.

GOAL ACHIEVED

Gamify tourist routes through technology, providing a new stimulus for young and old alike.

APPLIED TECHNOLOGY

App

Nature and technology as a family

Following its innovative spirit and constant search for new adventures, Planeta 40 wanted to incorporate the technological factor into its offer. For this reason, it decided to rely on the technological knowledge of DeuSens with the objective of converting its adventure trips into much more complete experiences, adapted to the new times and helping to strengthen the family bond. To achieve this we developed an application to promote family values in a natural environment.

The initial idea was to create an app that would encourage family travel, making that each of the families had access to a single shared account to work as a team on the same device. The motivation consisted in that at the end of each excursion they would solve a riddle in the form of a mini-game that would allow them to unlock the next day's test. Through a gamified story, parents and children could enjoy nature and technology, creating a memorable experience.

A combination of geolocation and Augmented Reality

This application made use of geolocation with Augmented Reality to generate objectives during routes and excursions, detecting at all times the position by means of the GPS of the device. The app had a map divided into four territories, corresponding to each of the four places to visit and that had to be unlocked throughout this adventure. So that, at the end of the excursion, it was necessary to solve a mini-game to obtain the clues for the next day. During the whole experience, the character Atland accompanied the family, telling them "the secret of the dragon".

The App included a great variety of mini-games and different tests, turning the adventure into a more entertaining experience. In addition, the final test unlocked the visualization of Augmented Reality, through which they could see the dragon in 3D and take a photo with him, as a photocall.

Scalable business model

The fact that it was an application that worked by geolocation with Augmented Reality, allowed the client to generate a scalable model around it in a very simple way. That is to say, it was a gamified solution exportable to any part of the world, which allowed us to adapt the game to any geographic space. In this way, we also avoided the need to move a game master to coordinate the game, since we replaced the game master by the virtual character Atland who was the guide of the family throughout the adventure.

In this way, the theme, the storyboard, the minigames, or the places to visit and the routes to follow, could be modified and adapted to any geographical area to create new Hyperexperiences in any destination in the world.
