Incorporate technology in the museum of the new tourist office in Torre Pacheco to generate a more interactive and attractive experience.
Technology integration in Torre Pacheco
The archaeological site of the Sima de las Palomas has turned out to be one of the main tourist attractions of the Murcian town of Torre Pacheco. In this regard, the town needed to renovate its tourist office and decided to take advantage of this fact to carry out an innovative and ambitious digitization project, including an interactive museum area that would enhance the knowledge about the archaeological site and the experience of visitors.
And to do so, they entrusted the leadership of the project to Telefónica, who decided to count on the Hiperexperiencia of DeuSens, together with our partners Tecco, to implement the required technological solutions and digitize the space of the new tourist office of Torre Pacheco, including a FunMirror and an interactive table, designed to attract the attention and entertain the little ones.

Augmented Reality Photocall
The project incorporated a FunMirror, our interactive Augmented Reality photocall that allowed visitors to virtually transform themselves into four different types of Neanderthal characters. Each character had its own outfit and accessories, providing an immersive and educational experience for visitors. This tool not only captured visitors' attention, but also allowed them to learn in a fun and entertaining way.
The characters in this FunMirror had the following costumes and props:
The characters in this FunMirror had the following costumes and props:
- A character wearing a long-sleeved leopard print dress and carrying a cane in his hand.
- A character wearing a fur skirt, wearing a necklace of fangs and carrying a spear in his hand.
- A character wearing a black fur vest and carrying a stone axe in his hand.
- A character wearing a fur skirt, wearing a skull mask and carrying a piece of meat in his hand.
From the 3D modeling of the characters and the development of the Augmented Reality functionalities to bring the costumes into the scene in a realistic way, to the choice of the necessary hardware and its complete installation were carried out by the DeuSens team, in conjunction with our partners at Tecco.
Interactive Kids Table with memory game
In addition to the FunMirror, with the youngest members of the family in mind, an interactive touch table was also installed that included a "memory" type mini-game, in which the player has to match pairs of cards with the same character, revealing them one by one and remembering their position, before the time indicated on the screen runs out.
The mini-game, designed and programmed by the DeuSens team, had three levels of difficulty and its attractive graphic design was based on a cartoon aesthetic and integrated characters and elements related to the Neanderthal theme throughout the interface.
An entertaining game to spend some time with and that managed to offer children a unique opportunity to learn and have fun at the same time.

Digitization of museums and tourism promotion
This digitization project was an important step in making the new museum area of the tourist office more interactive and attractive, also for children. By combining fun with learning, the project succeeded in capturing and maintaining the interest of the attendees during their visit. In addition, the positive experience associated with the visit to the interactive museum undoubtedly inspired interest in the archaeological site of the Sima de las Palomas.
A project that serves as an excellent example to demonstrate the need to integrate new technologies in exhibition areas and museums to improve the visitor experience and encourage their interest in art, science, history or other topics in the future.
