The Holy Grail Tour in Virtual Reality
The project arose with the aim of bringing the history of the Holy Grail closer to visitors and tourists in a more attractive, interactive, and educational way. The City Council of La Sotonera was looking for an innovative solution that would serve as a permanent resource at the Bolea Interpretation Center, allowing users to understand the historical and cultural value of the Grail and its journey through the centuries.
To this end, I entrusted DeuSens's Hyper-experience to develop a Virtual Reality experience that would make it possible to relive that journey, from the Last Supper to its arrival at Valencia Cathedral, passing through key moments such as its passage through the Roman Empire or its stay in the Huesca area. A narrative that combined historical accuracy with an immersive presentation, designed to capture the attention of all types of audiences.
Unreal Engine 5 for high-fidelity historical recreation
The experience was developed in Unreal Engine 5 with the aim of offering a high-quality graphic environment, taking advantage of PC VR mode for HTC Vive Focus Vision. This allowed for technical execution that prioritized visual realism and fluidity, fundamental elements for achieving true immersion.
Different scenes were designed to represent key historical moments in the journey of the Grail, with careful attention to architectural detail as well as sound and lighting. The narrative was integrated in the form of guided storytelling, accompanying the user throughout the journey and contextualizing each stage with relevant information adapted to an informative format.
All content was optimized for use in an exhibition environment, taking into account ease of use for non-expert users and the durability of the installation.
A solution to boost cultural tourism in Bolea
The Virtual Reality experience was permanently installed in the Bolea Interpretation Center, becoming a new tourist and cultural attraction for the town. Thanks to this technology, visitors were able to access a more complete and sensory view of the history of the Holy Grail, enriching their visit to the municipality and extending their time in the area.
The project fulfilled the initial objective of the La Sotonera Town Council to highlight its heritage linked to the journey of the Grail, using an innovative tool capable of connecting with audiences of all ages. In addition, it created a unique resource within the local cultural offering, with the potential to form part of future tourist routes and educational programs.
