Mobile World Congress 2016: Virtual Reality everywhere

Mobile World Congress 2016, held in Barcelona, was something of a paradox. In a mobile world fair the protagonist was not the expected one. Different virtual reality devices - with Samsung Gear VR in the lead- crashed the smartphone party. Similar to when Jimmy Jump stormed the 2010 Eurovision Festival held in Oslo.

Virtual reality in its mobile version used the MWC (Mobile World Congress) as a catapult. It used it to say that now yes, to make a punch in the public opinion. We are no longer a small group of freaks worshipping a chimera. Virtual reality is on the world's televisions, in the newspapers, on the Internet. It's everywhere. And we're all taking notice.

Mobile World Congress, Mark Zuckerberg: "Virtual reality will change the way we work and communicate"

More than 100,000 attendees. The new Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, compatible with the Gear 360-degree recording camera Gear 360 and Gear VR virtual reality glasses. 5G networks, which will increase the number of connected devices by 10 to 100 times, and battery life by up to 10.

5G is based on network, cloud and infrastructure. Entrepreneurs at the 4YFN show with more than 12500 attendees and 500 startups, 50% more than last edition. The eSIM, or what is the same, the end of the physical SIM card, oriented to the Internet of the things.

Every day, more than 100 million hours of video are viewed on Facebook alone. The networking giant, which bought Oculus VR just over a year and a half ago, foresees an exciting future in which virtual reality will be the next platform.

Also, in the words of Dr. Andrew Feenberg, technology is the crystallized expression of a society's values. It will completely change the way we communicate with one another and, as a result, relationships will be something else entirely.
