A hyperexperience to celebrate 125 years of electricity
To mark its 125th anniversary, Iberdrola wanted to tell its story in a way never seen before. The result was "Un viaje electrizante: una experiencia inmersiva Iberdrola" (An Electrifying Journey). The exhibition was open free of charge at the Galería de Cristal of Madrid's Palacio de Cibeles, from 22 September to 20 October 2026. DeuSens developed it together with Iberdrola's innovation team and the XR experiences department of Ricoh España, our partner on the project.
The exhibition took visitors on a journey linking past, present and future, from the first scientific discoveries to the innovations that will shape the cities of the "age of electricity". The result was a hyperexperience in which mixed reality was not an add-on but part of the story itself, alongside original pieces of great historical and technological value.
80 Apple Vision Pro running at once: one of Europe's largest deployments
At the technical core of the project was a challenge DeuSens had never faced before: 80 Apple Vision Pro headsets running simultaneously and controlled in real time. It ranks among the largest deployments of this device in Europe for a branded immersive experience.
With such new technology, there were no previous references to rely on. Over several months, the team solved technical problems no one had faced before, so that every visitor enjoyed a seamless journey. The exhibition was open every day from 10:00 to 22:00.
Opened by His Majesty King Felipe VI
On 21 September 2026, King Felipe VI of Spain opened the exhibition alongside Iberdrola's Executive Chairman, Ignacio Galán. Also in attendance were the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu; the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida; the President of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi; and the ambassadors to Spain of the United States, Qatar, Brazil and Finland.
During his visit, the King took the tour wearing the mixed reality headsets and discovered the key milestones in the history of electrification. It was the perfect finishing touch to months of work, in the very month DeuSens turned 12.
Immersive technology to spark new vocations
Beyond amazing its visitors, the exhibition had an educational purpose. It set out to spark curiosity, inspire scientific vocations among young people and show how electricity has transformed society and will keep leading the way towards a more sustainable future.
The project was made possible by the vision of Iberdrola's innovation team, who backed an immersive exhibition for such a special anniversary. Just as important was the trust of Ricoh España's XR experiences department, which relied on DeuSens to bring it to life. Behind it were months of close collaboration between the three teams, driven by great ambition and complete trust.
