DeuSens and Integra Tecnología Win the 2026 Traveling for Happiness Award

Some awards arrive from unexpected directions. The recognition we just received alongside Integra Tecnología at the 2026 Traveling for Happiness Awards carries that quality: it comes from the hospitality and tourism sector, not from tech, and that is precisely what makes it meaningful.

Organised by the Asociación Empresarial Hotelera de Madrid (AEHM) and Connecting Heads, the awards have recognised responsible tourism and innovation since 2020. This sixth edition set a participation record with 75 submissions from 62 organisations across Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East. The Culture and Conscious Art prize went to Dive into Heritage, the project both companies built for UNESCO.

Two companies from Aragon, a project for the world

DeuSens and Integra Tecnología have long worked side by side on projects that cross the boundary between technology and culture. Dive into Heritage is the most ambitious result of that collaboration: an immersive web platform that lets anyone explore UNESCO World Heritage sites through 3D models, geolocated narratives, interactive maps and augmented reality — from any device, in multiple languages.

The challenge was both technical and narrative. On one hand, building an infrastructure capable of managing dozens of heritage sites autonomously, with a content management system that lets UNESCO itself update and expand the platform independently. On the other, making sure each site had its own story, its own rhythm and its own layer of interactivity — not a catalogue, but an experience.

As Álvaro Antoñanzas, COO and co-founder of DeuSens, said on learning of the award: "Our challenge was for each site to have its own story, its own interaction and its own narrative rhythm, so that users would not find themselves in front of just another 3D model, but in front of a living story that would invite them to keep exploring. The fact that this approach was valued by a jury of this level, and from the tourism sector, is a very powerful signal that culture, when well told, has a real impact on people."

A jury that adds real weight

International jury of the Traveling for Happiness 2026 Awards, VI edition

The submission was assessed by a high-level international jury including Ferran Adrià of elBullifoundation, Sandra Martín from National Geographic Traveler, Evelio Acevedo, director of the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Ion Vilcu from UN Tourism, among other specialists in sustainability, culture and tourism innovation. That an immersive technology project is recognised by profiles like these is, in itself, a signal worth noting.

Recognition that keeps building

This is not Dive into Heritage's first award. Just weeks ago, the project was also recognised at the AMETIC Digital Tourist Awards 2026, where it took first place in the Tourism Accessibility and Social Sustainability category. Two awards, weeks apart, from different sectors pointing in the same direction.
